Age structure
We live in an ageing society. By the end of 2022, 17.7% of the population of Aruba was 65 years and older, up from 3.1% in 1960. The number of persons 65 years and older grew in 60 years from being 1.646 in 1960 to 18.965 in 2022, a growth of 1.052%.

While between 1960 and 2022, persons 65 years and older grew in numbers and as a percentage of the population, the number of children between 0 and 14 years of age decreased from 22.003 (41.4% of the population) in 1960 to 17.293 (16.1% of the population) in 2022. By the end of 2022, there were more persons 65 years and older in the population of Aruba than there were children between 0 and 14 years of age.
