More females than males
By the end of 2025, the population of Aruba counted 52,359 males and 58,266 females, which signifies a surplus of 5,907 females or 90 males per 100 females.
While the female surplus remains a defining characteristic of the Aruban population, the total gap is showing a steady decline. The female surplus decreased by 8.4 percent over the last two years (from 6,448 in 2023 to 5,907 in 2025).
Unlike the 2015-2019 historical average, 2025 shows a record registration of 2,254 male immigrants compared to 2,006 females. This increase was most concentrated in the 25-49 age groups, where net migration reached a peak of 977 males compared to 868 females.
Still, from the age of 30 years onwards, there are more females than males. The differences in the number of males and females are most pronounced in the highest age categories, especially after the age of 85 years, where there are almost 2 females for every male.
The mean age of males is 41.6 years, while the mean age of females is 44.5 years (the mean age of the population is 43.1 years).
