Deaths on Aruba in the last 50 years
A total of 814 deaths were registered in 2023, 7.4% less than in 2022. Before the COVID-19 pandemic, between 2015 and 2019, an average of 719 deaths were registered per year. Compared to the pre-COVID period, 814 deaths represent thus an increase of 13.2%.

Persons aged 60 years and older account for more than three quarters of all deaths per year. In 2023, they accounted for 86.0% of all deaths. Overall, the age specific death rate is highest for men in all age-groups, except for those aged 90 years and older, where there are more women dying than men.
