Deaths on Aruba in the last 50 years
A total of 879 deaths were registered in 2022, 8.8 percent less than in 2021. Before the COVID-19 pandemic, between 2015 and 2019, an average of 719 deaths were registered per year. Compared to the pre-COVID period, 879 deaths represent thus an increase of 22.3 percent.
In the second quarter of 2023, 373 deaths were registered, 192 males and 181 females.

Persons aged 60 years and older account for more than three quarters of all deaths per year. In 2022, they accounted for 88.2% of all deaths. Overall, the age specific death rate is highest for men in all age-groups.
