More females than males

By the end of the second quarter of 2024, the population of Aruba counted 50,845 males and 57,225 females, which signifies a surplus of 6,380 females or 89 males for every 100 females.

However, given that generally more baby boys are born than baby girls, there are more boys than girls in the younger age categories up until the age of 29 years, except between the ages of 10 and 14 years where there are about as many boys as girls.

From the age of 30 years onwards, there are more females than males. Immigration and emigration play an important part in the growth of the number of women in Aruba.
During the last ten years, a total of 28,872 persons immigrated to Aruba, of which 52.5% was female, while on the other hand, 30,868 emigrated, of which 51.4% was male. In addition, generally more male deaths are registered per year.
During the last ten years, 8,062 deaths were registered, of which 52.5% were males.

The differences in the number of males and females are most pronounced in the highest age categories, especially after the age of 80 years, where there are almost 73 females for every 100 males.
The mean age of males is 41.2 years, while the mean age of females is 44.0 years (the mean age of the population is 42.7 years).
