Continuing decline in birth rates
The total number of live births continues to decline, falling below the historical 2015-2019 threshold of 1,224 reaching a historic low of 824 in 2025. The Crude Birth Rate (CBR) reached its lowest point at 7.5 per 1,000 population compared to the 11.6 recorded just a decade ago in 2015.
The Total Fertility Rate (TFR) has declined from 1.9 in 2015 to 1.3 in 2025, falling well below the replacement level of 2.1.

In 2025, 824 babies were born, 415 boys and 409 girls. The mean age of mothers increased from 27.9 years in 2015 to 29.2 years by 2025. Live births by teenage mothers represented 5.5 percent of all live births in 2025, of which about 3 out of 4 were aged 18 or 19.
