More females than males
By the end of the third quarter of 2024, the population of Aruba counted 50,869 males and 57,158 females, which signifies a surplus of 6,289 females or 89 males for every 100 females. However, given that generally more baby boys are born than baby girls (284 boys and 257 girls up to the third quarter of 2024), there are more boys than girls in the younger age categories up until the age of 29 years.
From the age of 30 years onwards, there are more females than males. Immigration and emigration play an important part in the growth of the number of women in Aruba.
The differences in the number of males and females are most pronounced in the highest age categories, especially after the age of 85 years, where there are almost 2 females for every male.
The mean age of males is 41.3 years, while the mean age of females is 44.1 years (the mean age of the population is 42.8 years).
